What Type Of Classes Are Available

Interested in yoga or meditation but not sure what would be right for you? Below I give a breakdown of each of the classes that I offer:

Yoga for Beginners
This class explores the basic postures and breathing practices of Hatha Yoga – perfect for beginners or those seeking to improve their skills. We will also explore the Sun salutation sequence.

So, whether you’re new to yoga, it’s been a long time, you’ve dabbled a bit here-and-there, or you just want some refinement, this special step-by-step beginner’s course is just for you!

Mixed abilities
This class welcomes students of all ages and abilities. I focus on the power of simple postures done with attention to awareness of body, breath and subtle alignment cues. Postures can be modified for your unique body.

Yoga for Improvers
This class is for those who want to explore more complex poses in a learning environment. Previous yoga experience is necessary for this class.

Gentle Yoga
This class offers a balance of gentle stretching movements to increase mobility and circulation to all parts of the body. Even if you have never practiced yoga before you will learn to bend, stretch and align your body with simple joint movements and poses.

We also practice simple breath awareness meditation and guided Yoga Nidra – a deep relaxation allowing the body, mind and nervous system to let go, allowing deep healing to occur.

This class is helpful for those working with injuries, illness, chronic pain, stress-related disorders, or simply those with the desire to slow down. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace if you haven’t exercised for years and are a bit creaky, please don’t worry – the exercises are suitable for everyone.

Chair Yoga
The joint-freeing movements performed in this class are suitable for people of all ages and abilities, from the young and fit to the less able and elderly. They can be done in a chair, even a wheelchair, making the class useful for people with limited movement and those with disabilities. When performed together with the breath, the movements performed in this class can help remove toxins from the joints, encourage the flow of the lubricating synovial fluid, improve circulation and strengthen the immune system.

Meditation for Beginners
This class is a down-to-earth introduction to meditation. It explores the different techniques for meditation using breath, sound, gentle movement and visualization – allowing you to develop a personal practice to easily follow at home.

These classes create a quiet space to re-connect with your source of inner peace and strength. There will be guided meditations, with time for informal discussions and a recording of the class practice to follow in your own time.
