The Day
Bringing stillness to the body becomes not just the art of relaxation, but also the gateway to liberating ourselves from the restrictions of the mind.

For those new to yoga you may think that poses are the most common way to practice Yoga – but there is so much more.  This workshop will be a luxurious opportunity to explore the power of stillness in different forms.

In the Asana (postures) practice we will look at how we can find stillness in the classical postures.

Pranayama (breathing exercises) we will aim to extend those moments when the body is still and the mind is still.  Then the mind becomes quiet and we can explore deeper aspects of ourselves.

Our main meditation practice for the day will be the ancient and powerful technique Kaya Sthyairyam (Body Stillness).

And of course, not to forget, the blissful stillness of Yoga Nidra.

Lunch and refreshments are included – and for those not watching their weight – cake!

The Weekend
Leave everything behind, unwind and restore your mind and body with a perfect balance of Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Mindfulness Meditation, relaxing/healing massage, Reiki and Crystal Healing, and of course a pinch of fun at the Ringsfield Eco Centre, a hidden gem which is conveniently located just 15 minutes from Beccles.

With lessons offered in a relaxed and informal way, you are invited to create exactly the kind of retreat that you wish, doing as much or as little as you need.

What can I expect?

  • Morning meditation and Hatha Yoga practice – set at a steady pace – perfect if you’ve new to Yoga
  • Daily Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation, meditation done lying down)
  • Guided Mindfulness meditation sessions, shifting from our DOING mode to simply BEING in the present moment.
  • Out-door Mindfulness walking meditation
  • Restorative Yoga practice with Nathan Gray
  • A talk, demonstration and practical session on Indian Crystal facial with Vanessa Holmes
  • 2 night’s shared twin or double accommodation with shared bathroom facilities
  • Dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday
  • The weekend will officially start at around 4.00pm on Friday, with dinner at 7.00pm, but participants are invited to make the most of the opportunity to check in from 2.00 and enjoy the Hall and grounds.  A early massage or Reiki healing is available on-site.
  • We will finish after lunch on Sunday.

During the weekend, you’ll experience a variety of practices, so you’ll leave feeling refreshed and energised, yet calm and relaxed.

The Venue
Ringsfield Hall Eco Centre, www.ringsfield-hall.co.uk is a peaceful getaway in a natural, serene setting, a place where you can unwind.  You are free to spend your time just relaxing in the Hall and enjoying the grounds, or join in the programme of sessions aimed at replenishing mind and body.
This will be a low-key weekend – accommodation is simple, clean and shared in twin/double rooms, with shared bathrooms.  Delicious, locally-sourced, home-cooked food and refreshments are provided.
Feel comfortable to come by yourself or there is additional places for partners or friends who would like to spend a weekend walking or relaxing in this natural location.
During the lovely light, hopefully warm July evenings there will be time to socialise with a glass of wine or a cosy hot chocolate (whatever your tipple) round the outdoor fire pit, or take advantage of extra personal therapies.

£100.00 deposit on booking to secure your place
Payment in full by 1st July 2017.
Cancellation : The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled 21 days prior to the start of the retreat, after which, the deposit is non-refundable.

Jenny Mercer – Retreat Facilitator
Jenny has been practicing Yoga and Meditation for 35 years and teaching for 15 years.  She’s a Yoga Therapist and Accredited Mindfulness Teacher, teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at Beccles Station Community Rooms.

Hatha Yoga & Mindfulness Meditation
Over the weekend Jenny will be teaching simple Hatha Yoga postures, Breathing techniques, Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga Nidra.  There will also be time for discussion and Q & A.

 

Nathan Gray
Nathan is the founder of Samballa Yoga www.samballayoga.com, teaching both Students and Teachers. He teaches various types of yoga in Norfolk, Suffolk, the UK and internationally, bringing fun and a light-hearted approach to his classes.

Restorative Yoga
This Class is all about releasing and relaxing. Using Bolster cushions, blocks and wedges, your body is fully supported in Restorative Postures, allowing for deeper relaxation of the body and greater focus of the mind.. Breathing techniques and a supported Yoga Nidra, will leave you feeling light, refreshed and energised.

Zita Seabrook – Massage Therapist
Zita originally trained in New Zealand as a Massage Therapist in 1995, before going into private practice. In 2015 she completed a second diploma in Remedial Therapy and Myofascial Release , before returning to the UK. She is fully insured and registered with the Federation of Holistic Therapists.

Massage
With Zita’s experience she is able to offer not only Holistic Massage , which is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility, whilst easing tension but also a Deep Body Massage for problem areas to relieve more deep-seated muscle tension, boost circulation and aid relaxation and rejuvenation.

Vanessa Holmes – Holistic Therapist
Vanessa engages with a variety of Holistic practices, she is a Reiki Healer, Hypnotherapy Practitioner, Master NLP Practitioner as well as giving Angel Readings and Spiritual Life Coaching.

She will be giving a talk and teaching you the technique of an Indian Crystal Facial, which activates acupressure points on the face to help heal headaches and anxieties. You will be able to experience the benefits and use the technique at home.

Reiki Healing
Reiki is a natural, simple and safe treatment using the Universal Life Force energy. It’s a hands-on treatment for stress reduction or simply to relax and to improve overall well-being. A treatment can feel like a beautiful radiance flowing around the body.
